FOTODOK Taferelen
Tomorrow, September 11, I'll be speaking at FOTODOK's Taferelen #49 alongside Liesbeth van Walree, a judge from The Hague International Criminal Court.
We'll discuss the role of images in law and evidence, exploring how photographs function within legal contexts and what happens when visual evidence is absent or destroyed.
The conversation centers around my "Lost Takes" project, which investigates the notorious destroyed film roll from Dutchbat during the 1995 fall of Srebrenica. This work examines questions of visual evidence, official narratives, and the power of images in documenting historical events.
The event is part of FOTODOK's broader multimedia project "De 11 stemmen van Srebrenica."
